Frequently Asked Questions Question: Do I have to install the game or can I play off the CD-ROM? Answer: Art Dealer must be installed on your hard drive. We set it up this way for two reasons. One is that the paintings will load (show on your screen) faster if they are retrieved from your computer's hard drive instead of from the CD. The other reason is that the game needs a hard drive in order to save information about your username, paintings, money, and game progress. Note, however, that the files the game writes to your computer are very small (bytes). Question: My PC is 5 years old and running Windows 98. Will Art Dealer run on my computer? Answer: Yes. Despite including over 1000 painting images, Art Dealer is designed with minimal requirements. It does not require high-powered graphics cards or lots of RAM. Also, Art Dealer has been successfully tested on a number of older machines (many over 5 years old!) along with the most popular Windows operating systems (95, 98, NT, Me, XP, & Vista). Question: Can I install Art Dealer on more than one computer? Answer: No. This game includes an installation password that is licensed for one computer only. If you want to put the game on more than one computer, you will need to buy one copy (CD) for each; or you can contact us about other licensing arrangements. Question: Does Art Dealer work on Windows Vista? Answer: Yes. |
